Several hundred years ago a water mill was built at Coetmor near
Bethesda in North Wales. It fell into disuse in the late 19th Century
and was totally derelict in the late 1960's when Hertfordshire Scouts
began conversion to one of our most popular and well used facilities
giving easy access to Snowdonia.

Activities
There is real scope for
the serious mountain walker. All grades of climbing are available
within a few miles including the Carneddau and Glyder range of mountains
and Tryfan. Snowdon is only a short journey by road. There are also
attractive routes for the not-so-energetic in the Conwy Valley or
to the Aber Falls. Sea canoeing, fishing and pony trekking are other
activities you might include in your programme. Coetmor is a splendid
centre for touring the coast and mountains of North Wales with its
castles, small railways and many other features of interest including
the slate quarries at Llanberis.
