Hertfordshire Scouts first out-of-county Activity Centre, opened
by the Chief Scout in 1962. This imaginative conversion of an old
Caledonian Railway Station provides the perfect base for mountain
walking and camping in extensive araes of wild Scottish countryside.
Loch Earn is ideal for sailing, canoeing and water skiing.
Within 5 miles there are 120 hills over 2000ft including 60 good
mountains which can provide for a gentle introduction to hill walking
or a real challenge to the experienced. The immediate area around
the station can be used as a training area for younger age groups.
Loch Earn is an extensive area of water: take your own boats and
canoes or water ski.

The
Station is reserved for Hertfordshire Scout Districts during the
English school holidays and for courses at Easter and Christmas.
It is available at all other times including half-term holidays
for other Scout Groups and organisations. It has been successfully
used by groups of young people with disabilities.
