JAMBOREE ON THE AIR

WHAT IS JOTA ?

2017 marks 60 years of Jamboree On The Air! Scouts and Cubs get the opportunity to contact others in Scouting around the world using 2 way radio, reaching as far away as Antarctica.

Over the weekend Scouts will get the opportunity to complete option 1 from the Communicator Activity Badge. This includes logging 25 different amateur radio stations, learning how to tune a simple communications receiver and the simple terms of how radio waves travel around the world, learn the phonetic alphabet and so much more! Cubs will be able to complete section 5 from the Communicator Activity Badge.

Scout spaces are limited to 50 to allow participants the opportunity to cover the whole badge efficiently over the weekend!
